How does quality-of-life tracking work?
You fill in a seven-part sheet — hurt, hunger, hydration, hygiene, happiness, mobility, and whether there have been more good days than bad — scoring each from 0 to 10. It is the HHHHHMM scale, the one most widely used in veterinary hospice and palliative care. Fill it in every few weeks and Petto charts the totals, because the direction over time is what a vet can actually use. Petto does the arithmetic and nothing else: the scores are yours, and what they mean clinically is a conversation with your veterinarian.
Can Petto help with end-of-life decisions?
Petto will not make the decision, tell you when it is time, or suggest that it is. That judgement needs a vet who can examine your pet, and the decision is yours.
